Im at a loss for words, like many Australians waking up to this mornings terrible news about the events that unfolded last night. I feel relief that it is over, and that 15 hostages escaped with their lives. I feel gratitude to the police and emergency services for the way they so swiftly and capably dealt with this. I feel gratitude that most Australians are banding together, are not going immediately to hate and anger and nastiness, but are approaching this in a manner of unity, determined to keep the Peaceful Australian spirit alive with understanding and compassion for their fellow man. Please continue to do this - love is going to spread peace, which above all is what we need more of during times like now. I feel relief that the gunman was an Individual acting on his own - his distorted, disturbed view of the world has tarnished the peace of our country but his actions have also banded together our country Above all, I feel sorrow for the families and the 2 hostages who lost their lives. Prays, love and strength to them all during this time - nothing that anyone can say can make up for the loss that these families are experiencing at present. Prays of strength to the 4 injured hostages and the injured police officer that they all recover quickly. Prays of strength to anyone and everyone who needs it this morning.
