Im doing a sort of informal poll. Trying to figure out what peoples opinions are, and what they would be for an idea I had for a governmental policy change. First step is just to get a basic answer to this question: Two people, each making minimum wage at 35 hours a week. If paid bi-weekly, that is $507.4 each, or $1,015 combined, every two weeks. Thats $2030 each per month or around $4060 dollars combined each month before taxes. If you figure taxes at around 35%, thats about $659.75 every two weeks each. Thats $1319 a month each or about $2638 total take home pay per month, combining two minimum wage incomes. Our society has increasingly come to accept that minimum wage at the federal level of $7.25/hour simply is not enough to live on. My question is: do you agree with that statement?
