Im gonna be direct. I love all the ALS awareness and donating going on...the organization needs it to fuel research. The impact ALS has on the daily normal functions we all take for granted is great. Because only about 30,000 people are afflicted with ALS each year, pharma and insurance lag in their coverage and support. One of our very own is struggling and living with this disease; she puts on a smile, she is vocal about creating awareness, she wants the outcome different for her children...but today...she needs us and our support. She needs help where insurance fails....did you know that many things people with ALS (PALS) need will now be taken away due to changes in federal funding? Trickett is living everyday with the degeneration of her body, her family works hard to care for her and her needs but she needs equipment to make it easier on her family and allows her to have more dignity. This disease robs its victims of dignity and independence. Myself and a group of amazing therapists have dedicated September 20th, from 12-4p to raise money for Trickett and her equipment needs.
