Im honestly starting to wonder what progressive parenting is. From what Ive seen, Im not progressive. If progressive means punishing your child about pooping his pants by washing his bum on freezing cold water, when you know he has sensory issues, than Im not progressive. If progressive means treating people differently because they have a different religious views than I do? Than Im definitely not progressive. If progressive means that you have different beliefs than your neighbor and you dont support the same things as your neighbor than you shouldnt be friends, than I am not progressive. I thought progressive meant, growing your own food, gently raising your kids, child led learning, talking about real world things and accepting other peoples views. I thought progressive meant Id find people who didnt judge me. Instead, I feel like Ive been treated like a pariah. I FULLY support the LBGT community, I 100% believe in a womans right to her body. I do post controversial things and a lot of my friends know this and dont necessarily believe the same thing but they dont delete me and ignore me in public. Id say thats pretty progressive. Seeing someone elses opinion, not making it your own and seeing their point of view. Thats progressive.
