***** Im leaving Facebook ***** Friends and family of Facebook. After a while of observing my habits on Social Media as well as the negligence of being on Social Media and finally, the behavior and attitudes of people on social media and the effects it has on me, friendships and family, I have made the executive decision to leave Facebook forever. I know many people, including myself have left Facebook in the past only to return like a bunch of drug addicts and thats exactly what it is...an addiction. It makes you feel good but inside its destroying you, your relationship, your friendship and family. Its not social media to me anymore...its social destruction. Let me lay some examples to you. Remember as a kid, family would come in from out of town and it was like Christmas morning (for most). They would visit and your family would make a weekend out of it, go to the beach or stay home and bar b que, talk about old times, catch up on gossip and everyone would have a blast because you havent seen them in a while. You loved them dearly and you didnt care what theyre outlooks on life, their beliefs or what they stood by. You loved them for them...nothing else mattered. Today, I consistently hear people on how much they despise certain family members who they havent seen in forever based on something they posted on Facebook and the other family felt strongly the opposite. Did you talk to them about it? and their response No, I just deleted them from my friends list. Thats all it took. No words were spoken between the two and Facebook caused that once tight relationship to break up. There are a vast array of similar scenarios to prove my point. Heres mine. Im sure many of you wouldnt mind me coming to visit as I would love to visit long time friends and family to catch up and just enjoy their presence. But by me posting my belief that I dont believe the Mormon religion knows Jesus or I believe that all these Buy a weight losing kit which costs a hefty penny, recruit your friends by convincing them that theyre not going to lose weight or look how they want unless they buy this junk but wait sucker 3 of your friends into believing what they made you believe and you get one package of this junk free scams dont work? or finally by me expressing something Im feeling and then half of my friends believing its about them and then acting weird towards me or just avoiding me altogether because of it. I guarantee that by now, Ive already ticked off half of my friends list and now could care less if they see me ever again or not. Real friends who know me by now, know that I DONT care what religion you are...as long as you feel your presence with God and you are trying to live for Him and follow Him. I support you 100% regardless of your denomination. Also, That is not my belief about the weight loss program but a post someone posted about their thoughts on Project 10. My question to that person was have they tried it and failed themselves before bashing it. I applaud and support those who are out to help others feel better about themselves. The last thing about everyone thinking that the things I post are about them, well, I cant help but believe that IS true but I dont blame them. I blame Social destruction for that because thats what it has turned us all into. Bottom line, Im just done with it. I have benefitted nothing and have only received a sad realization that most people dont really care whats going on in your life unless theres possible juicy drama or gossip behind it. There are so many people I have as friends on Facebook and only a couple of times have they asked me directly how my newborn son is doing or how my family is doing or how my spiritual walk with God is going...nothing. only when I post something negative do I receive numerous messages of whats going on or what happened. Im not going to be a hypocrite because Im guilty of it too, why? Because Social destruction has turned me into this. I will keep in touch via text or calls. If you would like to keep in touch as much as I would love to keep in touch with you....message me your number and Ill do the same. Im shutting down fb for good at Midnight tonight Pacific time to make it fair for my West Coast friends. Take care, I love you all and God bless.
