Im not saying that I support shopping on Thanksgiving, however, Ive seen lots of statuses about boycotting it and such and it got me thinking. One, think of other things that have gone on for how long that we dont boycott on Thanksgiving... football. Theres plenty of players on each team and coaches and staff and media people that arent with their families. Why isnt that an issue? The parade. That thing is HUGE. Im sure it requires lots of set up and preparation that involves people working. And really.... lets say something terrible happens and your dog eats your entire thanksgiving dinner... Wouldnt you like to go somewhere to buy more food for your family? Im not saying that everywhere has to stay open at all hours.... but I also know several people that work to forget that they dont have family to be with or would prefer the extra money. Theres plenty of people that volunteer to work that day because of those reasons and are asked when hired if they will work holidays and such. For the most part.... 90% or more people working on Thanksgiving are probably volunteering for it. Maybe Im wrong or too modern minded... but when youre upset the grocery store is open... try to remember the hundreds of people that have to work for the parade that nobodys mentioned ever or the film crew for football. #imjustsaying
