Im not sure how to put this into words without offending society, but here we go- I have a strong uneasiness towards animals rights campaigns and the massive support that they often receive. I believe that animals abuse is a problem that should be addressed and hoo-rah for people doing so. But were kind of missing something- what about human rights campaigns and all? I think the general support for animals is far greater than the support to stop things like child abuse and starvation and nd genocide. Millions of people just in the US are suffering, more than any animal could ever comprehend, and millions more are facing political oppression, disease and starvation, and we rarely even consider that, or show concern for it. If the average American were to read about a homicide victim, the normal thought is something like Well gosh, thats just too bad. If there was a headline at all (the majority of cases never see a headline). But when we read a headline about an animal who was abused and survived we think Thats absolutely terrible! How dare someone mistreat an animal! And then, at the same time, millions of animals are being killed every day for the Big Macs and clothing we over indulge in. Society is pretty messed up, if you ask me.
