Im not sure if this is the place for this, but i know there are a lot of akita lovers on this page and i just wanted to share. I am very ecstatic about my babies recovery. He got hit by a car a month ago. The driver was completely at fault since the speed limit was only 25, he had enough time to stop or swerve. And since the only part of him that was hit was his front paw he was barely even in the road. He was standing on the porch with me when some friends pulled up across the street and he ran to the very end of our yard waiting for them and this guy hit him. My two year old sadly witnessed it, along with myself. The guy didnt even get out to make sure he was okay. Just yelled at me to keep my mutt in my yard and took off. The vet told us he may have to lose his foot. All of the bones in his foot are shattered. He barely had any skin. Half of his pads were ripped off. Now hes doing lots better. Been off his pain meds for two weeks now, hes always trying to play. Back to being mine and my daughters little guard pup. His skin is growing back. Now the vet said he may only lose two to three toes. He still has about two months left in his splint so there may even be a chance he wont lose those, if he can take it easy with his splint but he just cant seem to take it easy, hes so full of life and energy. Im just so happy my little cuddle baby is alive and well. Doing better by the day. As you can see by these pictures hes a big old baby. And very loved. We just need lots more of prayers and good vibes for an even better recovery!
