Im not sure if this is the right way to approach this or not and I am as guilty as the next for always being in a hurry but something has to be done. The numbers of deer killed on the short 3-4 miles of road here in Allagash has reached over 30. The deer have been crossing the roads here for as long as the old timers can remember but they seem to be falling to vehicles more and more lately. My Dad and I have taken too many like this one a beautiful big pregnant doe off the roads this year already. We are a small village that only takes a few minutes to drive through from beginning to end. If you are traveling through especially in the early mornings or evening and could keep in mind to watch out for our native majestic whitetails and slow down just through town wed all really appreciate it. It takes all of us to strengthen our deer herds back to where they once were. Thank you from all of us in Allagash.
