Im proud of Dave Chappelle. We used to do college gigs together way back. I wish I had recorded them. Some of my favorite shows, ever. Dave was incredible with his crowd work. He could slow play it to the point you thought he was lost and suddenly tie the whole room together. It was a master class. My own stand up was influenced when Dave and I spoke about the power of silence. It was the start of me trusting a more mindful approach. I loved those early shows. We were not famous. We were kinda known but certainly still just a couple of funny fellas that might have a shot at something. We both achieved something uncommon and special. I admire Dave and learned more about comedy than I could have imagined. Go see him at Radio City if there even tix still.
