Im psyched outta my mind right now about the weather late next week and weekend. So much is on the table for cold and some snow. I really feel that if we dont break some cold records that well be up for tying records set as far back as 1976 . . . with some chance of breaking those records. The models continue a scary trend of delivering punches of cold Arctic air throughout the week and into next weekend. I am kind of worried about some of the solutions depicting an elongated west-east oriented trough, delivering cold with impulses moving across the country. The orientation of the jet will help or prevent the delivery of deep cold air at the surface. If it turns out to be shallow cold air, we could see some ice, while true deep cold air would introduce snow and even then if the air is extremely dry in nature, it would not permit much of any moisture to fall. Lots of different scenarios involved, but of all the variables, it seems that extreme cold is the most likely harbinger of early winter. More later as my obsession continues.
