Im putting these up for various lefts to think about: SAA reported - TopicsExpress

Im putting these up for various lefts to think about: SAA reported an after-tax loss of R1.17bn for the year to March 2013, which was 39% higher than 2012’s loss of R843m. SAA has had R16bn in bailouts in the last decade or so. Consultants have pointed out that SAA has a ridiculous ratio of managers to workers 1,500 managers in charge of 9,400 employees is unsustainable. But because this is run as a govt department, nothing is done about increasing efficiency. And in the end there is no money for other things. I for one would be happy to see SAA privatised. If govt deems certain routs in the national interests it can always provide subsidies to private carriers.
