Im sitting here reflecting on my Western High School days. I cant help but smile. The best high school day of my life happened during Black History Month. It had to be my junior or senior year...Ms. McLaurin gave us the green light to destroy the Black History Month program & we did. We practiced for weeks with Ms. Beaty & pulled of a wonderful performance and tribute to the Kappas in a step show...all the other girls wanted to be prissy. (AKAS and all) BUT WE GOT DOWN...baggy pants tshirts and pure entertainment. That was my first time on stage performing for a crowd and as nervous as i was, I felt freeeeee. Us Western Sisters-Union girls have a tough core. Everything we did we were ONLY THE BEST. Our spirits were rich, our souls were soaring. From the choir to the dance squad.
