Im sitting with Father God today, studying the book of Mark, and I - TopicsExpress

Im sitting with Father God today, studying the book of Mark, and I am reminded while reading chapter 9 how sometimes Jesus would limit His public ministry in order to train His disciples in depth. He was equipping them for the time that He would no longer be with them. It takes time to learn. Deep, spiritual growth isnt instant, regardless of the quality of experience or teaching that we have had. Im seeing that even the disciples had to lay aside their work periodically to learn from the Master, so how much more do I need to alternate between working and learning from my Master? Perhaps this injury to my calf was no accident. I would normally spend an hour reading my word on a day like today, then be off running, and be busy doing volunteer work or busy doing something for the remainder of the day. I was reminded today of the benefits of spending time in rest and in His presence, learning from the Master and being renewed and re-charged in order to more effectively do the works for Him that I do. I urge you, brothers and sisters, before an injury or other mishap sidelines you from your normal routine, take time to sit down with the Father and let Him pour into you so that you do have something to give. You must have oil in your lamp in order to shine the light, and you cannot give away what you do not have. I might be limping, but I know Im brighter :)
