Im so excited! We have a new avian vet in Knoxville and she is BOARD CERTIFIED!! Yes, we had one at UT vet school but its not like you actually got to see him. She has not only opened an exotic practice here, but expanded the existing emergency clinic to cover exotics too! Since we also have reptiles this is a double blessing at our house. She came to talk to our bird club today and I was impressed by the work she has done and her treatment of the older club members. She was able to suggest a different way of treating the birds without stepping on toes of the older members that have been doing the same thing for 30+ years. I think she was well received and I really hope this is the beginning of great things for the birds and other exotics in our area.
