Im so touched by the outpouring of support to the ALS foundation. However, I would like to take this opportunity of nomination to bring awareness to my own cause, a disease called Lupus. Many people suffer from this terrible disease, some unaware, as it is extremely difficult to diagnose. The Lupus Foundation of America works to raise money to fund the research that helps this auto-immune disease get diagnosed faster and also to ease the symptoms of those suffering. You can either make a monetary donation or donate clothing that will be sold to thrift stores with profits going to the foundation - they offer a home pick up service as well to make it easier and you can schedule a pick up through the web site below. If you decide to donate clothing and come across any old and tattered towels, blankets, and sheets, please feel free to donate them to your local no-kill animal shelter as they are always in need of those things as well.
