Im studying Early Childcare Education (Birth to Age 8). Tons of books have been written and are being used in our classrooms as part of the curriculum. These psychologist have developed strategies to be taught in our early childcare facilities. Its helpful to understand the strategies. I get that. While some of the text book strategies are interesting, I find others to be unrealistic. Whatever happened to common sense? I now have a better understanding as to why bullying is a problem in our schools; why kids are so angry;disrespectful; have a sense of entitlement; resolve their problems by carrying guns and knives to school. The old school teaching and parenting strategies are considered obsolete. I personally feel that this new style of teaching develops the childs intellectual but not their emotional needs. We dont live in a society where you get to do whatever you want as a means of self-expression. Please pray for our children guys! If you are a parent, or have contact with a child(ren), please take the time to teach them some of those old school type values.
