Im thinking how much I love collaboration in my day to day life, and how much I wish academia were more collaborative and inviting! My experience of it as a professional is that most of what happens in acadmia is to aggrandize one at the expense of many. But it seems to me, if we all banded together, we could produce something akin the the perfect sunset--colors and textures bound together by mutual respect and love not by worship of a solitary genius controlling all of the air in the room. I love my colleagues--especially those who see outside their own personal interests.
