Im wondering...and this is a real question, not any sort of political statement: why are medical personnel employing the extraordinary containment measures (hazmat suits etc) they are with ebola patients? I ask because my understanding is that ebola is only spread via bodily fluids...as is HIV and some kinds of hepatitis...for which they *dont* employ those measures. AIDs patients arent moved in plastic tents with the docs in spacesuits...so what is different about ebola that makes them so much more concerned? Can any of my medical professional friends explain?
