Immigration Update 7/4/2014 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRESS RELEASE #1407M-0723 Subject : Obstructing an officer arrests Contact : [email protected] 951-837-4343 At 3:40 p.m. Murrieta Police Officers were investigating a report of an assault that occurred in the area of Madison Avenue and Fig Street. Officers went to make contact with one of the parties involved (Janet Mathieson 22 years old from Claremont). Mathieson refused to cooperate with the officer and was going to be arrested for obstructing the officer in the course of his investigation. While attempting to affect the arrest, a male suspect (Pouyan Bokaei 33 years old from Maryland) interfered with the officer and attempted to free Mathieson. The officer went to arrest Bokaei and in doing so let go of Mathieson. Mathieson jumped on the officers back while the officer was arresting Bokaei. Additional officers responded to assist. While the two suspects were being arrested, (Jacqueline Sanchez 26 years old from Los Angeles, Jessica Rey 25 years old from Menifee and Salvador Chavez 24 years old from Los Angeles) also interfered with the officers and attempted to free Mathieson and Bokaei. Sanchez, Rey and Chavez were also arrested. All five suspects were transported to the Murrieta Police Station for processing and were eventually booked into the Southwest Detention Facility. Janet Mathieson was arrested for: 148(a) (1) P.C. obstructing an officer, 243(b) P.C. battery on a police officer and 405(a) P.C. lynching. Pouyan Bokaei was arrested for: 148(a) (1) P.C. obstructing a peace officer and 405(a) P. C. lynching Jacqueline Sanchez was arrested for: 148(a) (1) P.C. obstructing a peace officer and 405(a) P.C. lynching Jessica Rey was arrested for: 148(a) (1) P.C. obstructing a peace officer and 405(a) P.C. lynching Salvador Chavez was arrested for: 148(a) (1) P.C. obstructing a peace officer and 405(a) P.C. lynching
