Important information from Lowell Police Officer John Chase regarding Monday, September 15th. Please continue to keep Nick, his family, friends, and fellow police officers in your thoughts and prayers. *** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (PLEASE SHARE) *** On Monday, September 15, 2014, our friend, brother, and follow member of our community will be laid to rest in the Lowell Memorial Cemetery. As most of you already know, Officer Nickolaus Schultz paid the ultimate sacrifice in the protection and service of us all. We are asking for your thoughts and support for the loving family he has left behind. We also ask for your consideration for his services on Monday. Beginning at 12:30PM and lasting until 6:00PM State Road 2 will be closed from Holtz road to Mill Street. Northbound Holtz Road and southbound Clark Road will remain open. All traffic will be diverted north and south from these locations. All side streets exiting onto State Road 2 between Holtz Road and Mill Street will be barricaded and guarded. On State Road 2 at Mill Street all traffic will be diverted north. Please keep in mind that the construction continues on Morse Street bridge and the road is still closed. There are detour signs posted at Mill Street and Main Street. If these signs are followed they will take you to an alternate route north so that State Road 2 may be bypassed. NO vehicles will be allowed to ENTER or LEAVE State Road 2 once it has been closed. Please make arrangements now to ensure that this does not affect you. Businesses along the route have been advised of the pending closure and it is presumed business will continue as normal. Most businesses in the section closed are accessible from side streets. Again, please make arrangements now so that this closure does not affect you. This is a small sacrifice we must all make and bare together for the sacrifice Officer Schultz and his family made for us. Without officers like Officer Schultz, towns like ours could never exist. Thank you for your understanding as we mourn the loss of our friend, our brother, and neighbor.
