In 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 Paul is emphasizing two important points - TopicsExpress

In 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 Paul is emphasizing two important points for us. First, he speaks of reminding others of the Gospel he preached. You and I share in that same ministry of being “reminders” of the Gospel. How do we do that in our time? It is easy for me to speak from “the pulpit” but how do I remind, how do you remind people in our families, work, schools and the many social settings in our lives? Think about the quiet ways we can do this as well as the more obvious conversations. St. James would say “be doers of the word, not hearers only.” Any thoughts to share? When we look at the second point in this reading, we see clearly that Paul is recounting the many times when Jesus appeared. Jesus is still “appearing” today though not in the way He did for the early Church. Where do you and I see Him? Perhaps in the way we observe people caring for the sick, the lonely, the poor. Where else should we sensitize our eyes? Take it to your prayer moment and reflect. -- Msgr. John Barry
