In 1952 Ford Motor Company commissioned Rockwell to do a painting - TopicsExpress

In 1952 Ford Motor Company commissioned Rockwell to do a painting celebrating their 50th anniversary. It would later appear in a 1953 calendar. Rockwell chose a street scene in Troy and after looking at a few locations chose a three building set on Fourth Street with 296 Fourth being the central focus. In the painting, he placed a Model A and horse and wagons on the street and workers on the two flanking buildings. Today there is a historic marker honoring the three buildings that still remain. I guess the street has remained the same after all.
