In 1997 South Korea went bankrupt. It was issued a 58 billion USD bailout by the IMF...3.5 million Koreans donated jewelry and 227 tonnes of gold (more than a billion USD was raised) to save their countrys currency. By 2004, South Korea joined the Trillion dollar club of world economies and also paid off its debt to the IMF three years ahead of schedule. Today, South Korea ranks number 1 in the manufacture of display panels and ships, number 2 in cell phone manufacture,5th in car manufacture,7th largest exporter in the world, top 10 in petrochemicals and Education,at least 10 South Korean companies are in the global fortune 500...Suffice it to say that The Koreans have done well. This should be a lesson and an example to struggling economies...With good vision, work ethic and esprit de corps, nothing is impossible...My message to Nigeria and Nigerians is to quit this senseless and counter productive ideology of asking the heavens to do a job that WE should do!!! #FoodForThought (Culled from a documentary by the History Channel)
