In 2010 I wrote down the words Legacy of War in my notebook, it was the genesis of my most ambitious photographic project to date. My plan was to document the long-term effects of conflict in fourteen countries over two years. I was hoping to bring together multiple stories to show the realities for post-conflict communities. A year later my initial research was done and I had the funding in place. Then, one unfortunate footstep changed all my plans. I honestly doubted it would ever happen, but five years later, I sit here with my bags packed and I’m finally ready to start this project. One journey ends, another begins….
