In 2014 ,TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!!! One of the most valuable lessons we must learn in life is that we bear direct personal responsibility for all personal achievements and successes that we aspire for.That plainly means; if it has to happen in your life, it is up to you. If it hasn’t happened, you are to blame. You are responsible for where you are. You may not have had control on your formative years while growing up, but now you must take the reins of your life, sit on the pilot’s seat and steer yourself to your desired destiny. You hold in your hands the building blocks that are necessary to build the future you long for. Don’t just imagine, wish, fantasize and build castles in the air about it, take the lead and make it happen. This understanding then dictates that we must constantly and deliberately develop ourselves so as to raise the possibility of ever achieving our dreams. We are designed to reproduce after our kind: so who we are on the inside is what manifests on the outside at any given moment. As part of our goals this year, I would urge us to invest, sacrifice and do whatever is necessary then to grow ourselves to the place where when greatness shows up, we are not ill-prepared thus becoming ashamed by our incompetence. Constant personal development is mandatory if this year shall be different from your previous ones. Constant personal awareness and a healthier understanding of all issues shall be key in making you a cutting-edge personality. Firstly, you need to understand that life is made up of many varying sesons. It is made up of ideal and ordeal, panicking and picnicking, pain and gain, love and rough, fast and fastened, breakthroughs and breakdowns; such is the proximity by which good times interact or even overlap with bad times. And while in either or while in the season between seasons, you must stay steadfast, remain stable ,strong and sober until results show up in your life. This year, give yourself some quality personal attention. For the longest time, people have drawn from you and you haven’t helped the situation because you have neglected yourself and kept giving and giving and rarely replenishing yourself. Withdrawals unaccompanied by deposits lead to bouncing cheques. If you will not take time to build yourself, you can as well forget being of help to anybody. This year, I give you permission to be a little selfish and before you can take care of others, take care of you. Until you are satisfied, you will never satisfy, until you have, you can never give and even God’s measure by which you should love your neighbor is called; ‘as thyself’. Don’t live to impress people anymore. Make this year different. When you work or live for people, you are as good as your last performance, you have no job security and they buy you at retail and sell you at whole sale. This is not the year to enthuse, thrill and invest in swagger. It is not the time to conform and beat imaginary deadlines to be compliant to the dictates of people. Don’t try to satisfy the abyss of people’s expectations; it truly is bottomless. Set your own goals, establish where you want to go and go there on your own terms! Invest in your capacities. Dream bigger than your bed. For the first time in your life, look in the crowd and dont notice other people; notice yourself. The world can no-longer be the same without your presence. Therefore take time to raise your heat thresh-hold, increase your capacity, develop shock absorbers and elevate your pressure handling levels. Stretch your capability to endure hardship. What you can handle is the only thing you will keep attracting. If you can be a better person, the world shall be a step closer to become a better place. How much can you handle? Don’t keep passing your pressure to those near you, if you do, you havent learned how to handle it. Work on yourself. If you will take care of your character, God will take care of your calendar. Focus on your life and don’t clean the web, kill the spider. Stay hopeful, believe in a brighter tomorrow and pass the faith around. Optimism is a hope multiplier. This year when they attack you, dont react, respond. Your life must become better! Up to now life has not been a bed of roses but as you listen to instruction and wisdom, it is only a matter of time before you sit on what used to sit on you. Today make a resolution to adjust your height controls and uninstall all ‘speed governors’ that have bogged you down and halted your progress. Be they people or situations; nothing is worth stealing your attention and focus on what matters most. Be committed to forward movement. And whether bumpy or smooth, expect a ride of your life nevertheless. You are born to win! Bishop
