In America YES! At the age of 12-13ears in the 7th grd. I grew up in a Baptist church and though they did not chain me to a wall... I was made to write bible passages over and over hundreds and hundreds of times...when I did not finish my homework I got more writing assignments of the bible...many times I was not allowed to go outside with the other children and was humiliated in front of the class for just about everything. From not crossing my,t all the way or dotting my,i clear enough so it could be seen or not dotting them at all. I remember being accused of cheating for not marking it wrong that I did not cross my,t or dot my,i One day my dress was not long enough an did not go over my knees. I was made to kneel down in front of the class to see if my dress folded on the floor. It touched the floor, but did not fold on the floor. The claim of Mr. Croy. I was had to leave the class room taken to the Pastors house and given a skirt from one of his daughters closets. One time when I was sitting there doing my work....I was called up to the front of the class at is desk, the Mr. Croy pointed out I had pierced ears, and opened the bible and read from the bible about piercing of the body...telling me it is a sin and read to me (twisting the bible) then reading from Matt 5:30 or Matt 18:8..about if it offends thee cut it off... I couple of the boys did report being paddled by a thick hard board. Which they called THE BOARD OF EDUCATION. ...and YES it was written across this big giant plank....BOARD OF EDUCATION They would even brag about it, and show it off in church. Often with speaking against, separation of church and state. McCoy would ridicule me all the time...he seemed to single out mostly...the foster kids and myself and another boy, who seemed to be a little different than the others... They also had another BOARD OF EDUCATION...This one had holes... So it was called, THE HOLY BOARD OF EDUCATION I personally was never spanked with this paddle, but I was threatened with it a couple of times. If I did not have my bible passage perfectly memorized, which consisted of about approx. 10 verses...and I would even miss a word like,the the teacher would close the bible...and have me write it 20 more times.... I wanted to go outside one day and was made to write these bible passages over and over hundreds of times... (mostly I noticed did not consist of the knowledge of Christ, but the circumstances of Christ, which I noticed when I started reading independently on my own.) So this one day it was about the early spring and I wanted to go outside with the others...mind you I was about 12-13 years old...So I cried with my head down and covered and Mr.Croy asked why I was crying. I dont think I answered and wanted to go outside... He took my desk and threw it flipping it over with me in it. I ran outside the building and sat at the stairs leading to the basement downstairs crying... the pastor came and sat next to me and asked what was wrong. I told him that Mr. Croy flipped me in my desk. I dont know what happened after that...but that was the last time I was at that school and I was told by my so called mother, that I they did not want me there anymore...and all the foster children and myself were kicked out that day. We were not a problem. One foster child, who was in another class didnt have these problems, and she was a perfect straight A student who her and another girl was at the top of the school in perfects scores. Her brother was in my class, which consisted of the whole high school of about 25-30 students. I hardly spoke and was very shy and so was James. He expressed no rebellious behavior accept the rules they made which were ridiculous...and not that we did anything wrong...If I am not badly mistaken I believe it was one of the foster children/boy who was spanked more so not for misbehavior or anything...he never misbehaved and was very calm in demeanor...but they always found a reason or lack there of. creepingsharia.wordpress/2013/10/25/ohio-muslim-students-say-chained-to-wall-beaten-with-sticks-for-not-memorizing-koran/
