The title song is a monologue centering around a conversation with Pope John Paul I, who was elected to the papacy and died shortly afterward, all during the recording sessions for the album. Patti has more recently said of JPI “I feel that he was a true revolutionary, and someone who would have transformed the Catholic church”. Im only relating this because Patti has been invited to perform at the annual Vatican Christmas concert by Pope Francis on December 13. Im sorry, but this beats Elvis meeting Nixon and Bono taking a meeting with W by a factor of 100. We played Frederick, Dancing Barefoot, So You Wanna Be A Rock n Roll Star and this peppy little ditty, Revenge. This 1979 live version from German television is stunning.
