In India, beef (cow meat) is openly sold atRs. 120 per kilogram. The slaughter of each cow/bull/buffalo yields approximately 350 kg of meat. Skin and bones are sold separately. An animal can be bought at an average price of Rs. 8000- 9000 in a village and in draught affected regions it can be bought at even Rs. 3000. To calculate: The cost of animal 8000/- Meat obtained from one animal 350 kg. Price of that meat in India 350X120 = Rs. 42000/- Price of skin Rs. 1000/- The same meat when exported outside India gets around 3-4 times more depending upon the country to which it is exported. The farmer gets only Rs. 9000 and the slaughter house gets 43000 - 9000 = 34,000/-. In India, each slaughter house slaughters around 10000-15000 animals each day. At an average around 12000 animals every day. This would mean that each slaughter house owner is making a profit of around 12000X34000= 40,80,00,000/- (forty crores eighty lakhs only) every day. If this business works around 320 days in an year then 40 crores X320= 12800 crores profit every year. So why would a slaughter house owner close a slaughter house. It requires to be forcefully closed and for that purpose a government with determination for cow protection needs to be brought. In Uttar Pradesh, tenders are invited for 8 modern slaughter houses which will have modern machines to slaughter animals. It is a machine in which the animal is put into a narrow passage which has a mirror at the other end. As soon as the animal tries to touch the mirror by sticking its head inside, the machine clenched its neck and the head is severed from the body. Do you know that in Uttar pradesh, a permission to open 15 slaughter houses has been given by chief minister (akhilesh yadav), where in each slaughter house on each day 10000 animals will be slaughtered. So in one day in 15 slaughter houses 150000 animals will be slaughtered. If you love animals, then spread this msg so much that everyone will stand in its support and chief minister is forced to take back his permission. Ahimsa parmo dharmah This is the minimum you can do for cow protection.
