In January, one of two individuals will possibly be inaugurated as Virginias next Governor. The policies of either will subsequently direct the Executive branch of Virginia for the next four years. Libertarians have a viable chance to advance many important values significantly. Its an advance that can only come about by voting for Ken Cuccinelli. Ill be writing more specifically about why I support Ken in a few days. My perspective isnt random, its a conclusion based on experience. Ive been involved, either part time or full time, in lobbying, electoral and party politics in Virginia for six years. Ive watched carefully as events have unfolded and Ill tell you this: Not voting for Ken is, quite frankly and quite literally, among the most counterproductive things I can think of for the libertarian movement in Virginia. The choice is yours, as it should be. Im not berating anyone - this will be my first and likely my last word on the subject. Im just encouraging my libertarian friends to understand that when they vote their conscience, that their conscience considers which of these two inaugurations results in the greatest expansion of liberty, competent governance and fiscal restraint.
