In June 1979, I was in Afghanistan, and officially the country was at peace, but news reports were full of rumours of Russian, (then the Soviet Union), troops being on the ground to support the Socialist regime in Kabul against Islamic insurgents... all denied by Kabul and the Kremlin... I saw huge military camps full of Soviet tanks and military... we passed a ten story hotel in the middle of nowhere... full of Soviet troops... Six months later, Im in the UK, and hear the shock announcement that the Soviet Union had entered Afghanistan.... Hah! What a bloody joke... I have no doubt, they are in Ukraine and intend to stay there... and... as Russias economy is so shaky at the moment, whats the bet Putin sees a war as a distraction... this Nazi talk is guaranteed to stir up hatred toward the west... I really dont trust him, and predict war in the Ukraine...
