In Kansas, tax reforms have resulted in wage earning W-2 - TopicsExpress

In Kansas, tax reforms have resulted in wage earning W-2 employees paying Kansas state income taxes as usual whereas pass through income earnings from a persons ownership of a business is exempt from state income tax. So lawyers, dentists, and others who own businesses as sole proprietorships etc. do not pay state tax on their operating profit but those who work for them do. This is done to grow the economy give Job Creators more income to hire more people to provide more jobs. Hey....the job creators have plenty...the stock market has hit the stratosphere. I have worked in and around business for almost 35 years. BUSINESSES ONLY HIRE MORE EMPLOYEES WHEN THERE IS AN INCREASE IN DEMAND. This is just hurting the economy by increasing the income inequality and shutting down demand even more. Koch wants to fund a study at one of our local universities. to show how regulations hurt business...Hey Charlie, regulations hurt Big Oil. It costs money to make a pipeline leak-proof in compliance with those annoying regulations. Lack of customers is what hurts most other business. The numbers of low wage earners and hungry is skyrocketing, creating critical need for safety nets while our state government privatizes more and more crucial social services because THE STATE CANT AFFORD TO FINANCE THEM!!! Maybe we can fund them by taxing the crap out of those with a shitload of money like we used to do in more prosperous times? It is just nuts to farm out social services to entities whose sole purpose is PROFIT...taking in more money from the taxpayers than they are paying out to the disabled, sick, hungry. Maybe we should just change our national anthem to that old Rudy Vallee song, Brother, can you spare a dime?
