In Memory of James Carrol Simmons February 25, 1925 - January 5, 2015 Obituary James Carroll Simmons, 89, lifelong resident of Winston-Salem, died peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2015. Mr. Simmons served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, was a retired CPA, a member of College Park Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday School, a 33-degree Mason and Past Master of Salem Lodge #289 in Winston-Salem. Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Helen Hennings Simmons; daughter, Judy (Jack) Dorn of Taylors, SC; son, David (Camille) Simmons of Kernersville, NC; two sisters, Louise Britton of Florida and Minnie Green of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. He is predeceased by one brother, two sisters, and an infant daughter. Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, January 9, at Volgers Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be 2 PM at Stony Knoll Methodist Church, 2340 Flint Hill Road, East Bend, NC 27018. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to College Park Baptist Church Missions, 1701 West Polo Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106
