In September four members of the U.S. House of Representatives, John Conyers (D-Mich.), Alan Grayson (D-Fla.), Rush Holt (D-N.J.) and Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), sent President Obama and the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board a letter stating that “Secret law is a threat to democracy” and urging the president to “…declassify and make public all current and future legal opinions or interpretations concerning surveillance under Executive Order 12333.”
