In an effort to create a little dialogue and offer up some constructive criticism for our fellow direct sellers, what is one piece of advice that you would recommend as far as something NOT to do in direct sales? I have personally seen some things that make me cringe. Heck, Ive done some of them. So Ill just pick the first one that comes to mind: If you choose to market your direct sales business on your personal profile, dont make the mistake of posting business 24/7. Personally, i think that its acceptable to talk about your business to your friends and family. but if they go to visit your profile and all they see is a weeks worth of buy my stuff! and join my team!, then more than likely they will begin to tune you out. You may work your business like your life depends on it, but that doesnt mean you have to present your life to your loved ones as though it is nothing BUT business. Strike a balance. if you cant manage to strike a balance, youd probably be better off just sticking to a fan page. Ok, so, I guess Ill add another one that just occurred to me since we are talking about the things you share on your personal profile: STOP BEING NEGATIVE!!! If every time you post something you are moaning and complaining, that is another way to get people to tune you out or block you. And it doesnt do your business any favors. If I see someone that owns their own business and they are always complaining about their life, their finances, etc, I am going to assume that their business neither makes them happy nor is profitable. And if their business is not profitable, that must mean that their product doesnt sell well. Which must mean its not all that good. so, in one fell swoop, someone just turned off a potential customer or team member. Even if they have the best products and the best business opportunity. I have learned that PEOPLE ARE WATCHING YOU. Even if they dont say anything, they are watching. And judging. And even deciding. be positive, even when you dont feel it. So, whats your one piece of advice?
