In boys’ basketball, the Nashville Invitational Tournament concluded Saturday night with Breese Central beating Mater Dei 49 to 38 for the championship and Waterloo Gibault beat Tuetopolis 51 to 45 for 3rd place. Nashville beat Freeburg 67 to 61 for the Consolation Championship, while Wesclin beat Mascoutah 64 to 63 for 7th place. In the Benton Invitational Tournament, Okawville beat Carlyle 53 to 44 in overtime on Friday night. Then Saturday, Carlyle beat Hamilton County 48 to 47, but lost 59 to 55 to Pinckneyville. In girls’ basketball from the Highland Tournament Saturday, Breese Central beat Belleville West 53 to 43 for the championship and Teutopolis beat Mater Dei 39 to 29 for 3rd place. The Nashville Hornettes won 5th place by beating Highland 51 to 39. Meanwhile, Christ Our Rock Lutheran lost 47 to 34 to Wayne City on Friday night. Tonight, the Okawville Lady Rockets taken on Christ Our Rock Lutheran at 7:45 and the game will be on the V and v1047.
