In civil law (particularly Law on properties) Res nullius is - TopicsExpress

In civil law (particularly Law on properties) Res nullius is defined as a thing which has no owner. A thing which has been abandoned by its owner as if it had never belonged to any one but still subject to appropriaton. By metaphor, an EX to an ex, the former who left (say abandoned) the latter, makes the other res nullius. A person who has been abandoned by the owner as if he had never belonged to any one.. This makes him subject to appropriation ( to be owned by another). And that "another" becomes the New owner. Therefore, the EX-OWNER has no right anymore on the thing he has already abandoned.. him, making his ex res nullius. Now, to make it more "simple-for-human" if a thing/person has its/his new owner, your right has extinguished already. Again, as if it had NEVER belonged to anyone. As if he had never belonged to you. #Okay?
