In latter-day world of ever changing scenarios , political and human phenomena the most significant question that comes to mind is that when encountered with upheavals in these spheres , how do we depict our internal and external strengths in coping with them?On personal level we all are very fragile as far as our emotions and sentiments are concerned but even at personal level we make a great display of our strengths whenever we are encountered by any predicament. Coming back to the main question i.e. where does the strength of a nation lie? the answer is it lies in the deep rooted values of compassion and love for humanity , as well as its capacity to deal with catastrophes, be those natural disasters or man made.Dissection of history divulges that whenever a nation was hit by a catastrophe then its people irrespective of their cast , color or creed became unified and transformed to invincible force .America’s civil war had brought the country on the verge of destruction when the southern states had decided to separate after the estrangement from the federation over the slavery issue but what kept it intact was its leader, Abraham Lincoln’s vow to row the sinking boat out of the storm without harming its integrity and he did it. It was the sincerity of the leader to the national cause and the nation’s adherence to that cause which had made it possible. when Dr. Martin Luther King said “I have a dream” he made all efforts to make that dream come true not by igniting the people on fire but by igniting the fire within the people , the hope that it will surely one day come true when his people will be standing by him raising the same slogan and having the same dream in everyone’s eyes. That dream was realized when Obama took oath and a black also got a seat in the same compartment of a bus and train where the whites were enjoying their journey. What makes the people hit by disasters again and again to start the struggle for a new life is the will to live and the will is the way to life. This is where a nation’s strength lies and the will to live should never die, as it keeps the flame burning, if the fuel of willingness is not supplied, the light will die out.Nation that is deprived of this spirit cannot revive from any disaster .
