Tragedy on the Tay The train rumbled on through the Fife countryside so bleak, If only that theyd kent the sheer havoc aboot tae wreak... 1879, a late December night, a ferocious gale wis blawing wi all o natures might, the burning street lamps o Dundee must o been a welcome Sight... The trains now oan the bridge, theres a rattle n a shake, A grinding o metal oan metal then the girders begin tae break... Now we can only imagine the sheer terror in there eyes, the horror o the situation, there panic stricken cries, the howling wind that night was the devil in disguise... Downwards into the waves the train took a deadly decent, towards their watery graves Is the way these pair souls went.
