In my beautiful state of Alabama, especially in Mobile we do not have a relationship with the rest of the community because of fear of how the rest of the community of Mobile feels towards their Muslim residents that have always been outstanding citizens of this great city Mobile, we at Masjid As Salaam extend our hands in friendship with all the peace loving citizens of Mobile. I Imam Yusef Maisonet have been a supporter of peaceful participation within the religious communities in Mobile, not one TV station has not reach out to the Muslim Community in Mobile, while the have on of the best communities in America that can start a dialogue with our fellow citizens on living in peace and respecting all. We need a dialogue with the police, community, city council, mayor, and all religious leaders of the Christian, Jewish community, to proclaim our citizenship of this great historical city Mobile. As an able body seaman and then Bosun, I did this for thirty years. I have been retired about 7 years but I still travel my last trip was to Cairo, Egypt at Azhar University for Islamic studies and cultural exchange between countries and spent some time in Palestine. Education: AA of Arts from the University of Phoenix, bi-lingual Spanish fluent, I am studying Arabic, and I speak many phrases of other languages. I am a community oriented person ready to assist those in need in my community regardless of religion, creed or nationality.
