In my neighboring Borough of Hackney, London Fields rally to save GP surgeries at risk of closure following government funding cuts See the link below The Tories promised us the NHS is safe in our hand, and there would be no reorganization of the NHS. Both were lies. Clinical Outcomes have got worse, waiting lists have been extended , 34% of new contracts since the 2012 Care bill has gone to the private sector. The reorganization of the NHS has cost 5 billion, when the NHS expenditure is £102B annually. The planed closure of local GPs surgeries is not only madness but is cutting jobs and impacting directly on patients health. The desire by this government administration to attack the NHS by every possible means and GPs surgeries are on their agenda for cutting, and so installing Private, Independent Providers. But across England where GPs surgeries have been closed, or forced to close by squeezing them financially, has not been the success they hoped. In fact many of the so call Independent Providers have some of the highest rates of complaints. And some have closed. Independent? Of whom you have to ask and then the question follows does Independent mean better. In most cases, NO. Our NHS is being attacked. And we, Patients, have to support or GPs and if GPs feel the only way to make a statement is mass strike action, which some are now considering, must get our affirmation, active support, and hand in hand fight to save the principal of a Universal Health Service that is the envy of the world and makes out NHS number 1 in the league of Western nations.
