In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has appealed to the people to totally boycott the forthcoming so-called Assembly elections in the territory. Syed Ali Gilani distributing relief among the flood-hit people in Srinagar said that all pro-India parties were talking the people for ride. He said that there was no difference between National Conference, Congress, PDP, and Peoples Conference and irrespective of their origin and affiliations all these parties were responsible in strengthening the Indian occupation. The veteran leader criticised the puppet regime for giving meagre relief to the flood affectees. He said that by announcing Rs 3,800 for repairing of houses, the authorities were mocking people. “It is ridiculous. I feel sad for the people who have been given such a meagre amount,” he stated. Syed Ali Gilani said that Srinagar was a business hub but recent floods had turned it into a ghost city. “The city has lost its glory, grace and splendour. Even after two months Srinagar is still grim and gloomy,” he added.
