In re-energizing my knowledge of early 20th century history, Ive discovered a brief session that eerily reminds me of a modern day political movement in America. Im thinking of a movement that is ultra-nationalist with aspirations for microscopic government and unregulated and unfettered free trade, at the expense of everyone not associated with a top tier economic class level. One with strong ties to anti-socially benefiting programs who is willing to hold hostage the very basic principles of democracy to push forth their agenda; so much so that it could be misinterpreted as a palpable disdain for the very construct of democracy. One so right wing, they can only be known as the Tea Party Republicans.
