In regards to TOLERATION. When we throw around this word tolerant we are really getting at what we will tolerate to be a TRUTH CLAIM and if one belief or world and life view is not compatible with another we are to be not tolerant of the other yet then to what degree do we allow those views to be expressed. As America becomes less as a percentage wise Christian with growing numbers of followers of other religions the word toleration comes into conversation. Some just dont want to talk about it and that is because they are ignorant and in that way I dont mean rude but rather simply unknowledgeable as to the facts or uninformed. They are afraid to express opinions. So just a tad of enlightenment here as New York City, the largest city in America now celebrates Islamic holy days as for their government, schools etc.: Islam has two basic sects: Sunni and Shia called Shiites who = 20% of all Moslems. Islam is also referred to as Mohammedism from it is from their Prophet Mohammed that the Koran was received from the Angel Gabriel. Shia are mainly in Iran and eastern Iraq. The rest are mostly Sunni as in Saudi Arabia. Islam is very intolerant of Christianity and relegate Christ to being a prophet only. Islamic law is called Sharia and permits the man to have more than 1 wife. Their holy books are the Koran and the Hadith. Christians consider Islamists to be heretics and Islamists consider Christians to be infidels.
