In remembrance of my good friend and brother, a Natural Man, a Human Being, Russell Charles Means, I met at the National Museum of Anthropology and History in Mexiko Tenochtitlan, during the Reunion of Original Peoples of the Continent in August of 2007. I first met His wife Pearl Means at a ceremony in the corner by the great Tlalok. Pearl told me Russell would never go into a museum, and I saw Him walking around outside the Sala Mexika and asked Him to sit and talk with me for a while, and He did. I gave Him my Tonalamatl, a handbook to learn to read and use the Aztek Calendar I have been publishing and distributing since 1993. He told me He thought He knew quite a bit about the Aztek Calendar but was surprised and happy to hear what I had to share, especially that He was born on the year of the Reed-Akatl and the day of the House-Kalli...He was excited to hear he had Tezkatlipoka Ixkimilli as the cosmic companion of the Reed and Tepeyolotli the Jaguar as the cosmic companion of the House. I told Him Pearl told me He never goes into Museums and He said thats right, Ive never been to them in the States and I sure am not going in them here in Mexico... I said I could understand why, but ... there are some Stones in here that you really need to see and take a close look at, stones that are relevant to today and want to speak to you, to what is happening in the world around us and which can help us turn things around... and I really think you should come and see and meet them, its about you.... He looked at me, He gave me that look and then He stood up and I thought He was going to walk away, but instead He said well, lets go see, but if you ever tell anyone..., and He smiled. We walked into the Sala Mexika that houses the Aztek Calendar but first I took Him to see the foundation stone of Mexiko Tenochtitlan that has 13 steps each equaling 52 years that brings us to the year 2004, the year of the return of Ketzalkoatl in the Venus transit across the face of the Sun on June 8th. Then to Tlaltekutli that has the same face as the Aztek Calendar, and finally I took Him to the Calendario...He walked slowly up to it then turned to me with tears in His eyes and said thank you... we spent the next couple of days together before He and His wife left the Contenental reunion, and He told me I wish I didnt have to go yet and could spend more time with you to learn more about the Calendario..., me too. . ...If you want to learn more: zemazatzin@hotmail aztekayolokalli/clock https://youtube/watch?v=5DZTPURyAX4
