In the engineering world, not technical or production, but dealing with engineering projects, either local or overseas, as far as I can see, everything is competition. Everyone is your competitor. No one is your friend. You think twice to even say a simple “Good Morning”. Words such as “Have a nice day” seems so weird. They give you that weird look when u say it. Everybody wants to have power. Power to control things, control people. They don’t want to negotiate, they want it their way. Things always get complicated when people have certain authority over others. And I have to say this. Hell Yeah. I met the REAL BOSS. He ask u a question, but he wants u to answer his way. He just wants his answer from your mouth. U cant say your opinion or your idea. There’s no such freedom. A new experience communicating this way. U think of how to deliver your message. Not sure if it’s a good idea meeting the BIG BOSS of Asia in my first working life. Direct dealing, hand shake, face to face. Every word coming out from your mouth has an impact. Its a great challenge. Need time to adapt. But whatever, just want to be myself. Not going to change my attitude or character to satisfy anyone. Even for the BIG BOSS. I am who I am.
