In the last few days I have been lucky enough to attend meetings - TopicsExpress

In the last few days I have been lucky enough to attend meetings with local business people and introduce them to the economic development unit at Hills Shire Council, I hope they share the experience and move on to one on ones with our specialists who can assist small and micro businesses grow, prosper and employ more people. I have also had the time to walk and drive around the area as my mum is visiting from the UK - we noticed that a few of our new footpaths, median strips and public areas look a little tatty. Well after enquiries I established that the new footpath areas are being looked at in the next day or 2 and will be fixed up. Our arterial roads are the responsibility of the RMS - we (Hills Shire Council) have written to the RMS today requesting they pay attention and tidy up the areas they are responsible for (e.g. The intersection between Showground and Windsor Roads) hopefully they will tidy it up soon - I know the footpaths are going ahead of schedule and I think this is a great thing for the shire (less than 2 years ago the infrastructure backlog was around $35m - today its less than $3m) so I know the staff at the HSC are working very hard with ALL councillors support to reduce the backlog and increase our service deliverables to our residents as fast as we can - continuing to be financial prudent and one of the most envious councils in the state! Half way through my term and although I cant please everyone all of the time I will serve the residents of the Hills as best I can for my term and beyond, if I am lucky enough to be considered again for this more than I expected roll!
