According to my online Thesaurus I have been: asking, beseeching, imploring, pleading, praying (versus say, preying?) soliciting (dont go there), urging, abjuring, advocating, besieging (conjures up images of a Roman Army), canvassing, conjuring (say as in an invisible poison?), craving, desiring, entreating, importuning, invoking, lo even nagging, petitioning, pressing (as into service?) requisitioning, and supplicating. And of course throwing myself on the mercy of strangers. Since I hate sales more than the flu with a sunburn, I am feeling so much better to not be begging.
