In the very early days of Maybeshewill we released a split 12 with the mighty Her Name Is Calla. We always looked up to them as sort of elder statesmen I suppose - a band who were a year or so ahead of us and already setting the standard for music coming out of Leicester (along with perhaps Tired Irie, TEAM and Public Relations Exercise - all sadly no more). It really seemed like our city was bursting with awesome music and though there was no real common thread there was a definite scene that we wanted to be a part of. This year both we and they turn ten years old. In the intervening years weve shared stages and band members and had some incredible times together. We are intrinsically linked. To celebrate their centenary they are putting on three special shows and hooking up with our long time collaborators WeTheConspirators for a documentary about those many years.
