In the wake of rioting, looting, and other terrible things in the crazy world we live in, heres a couple of feel good stories for you all. Ill start by saying this is a completely anonymous act of kindness and I was enlisted to become part of it agreeing to do the delivery. Approached by a customer, after she said she wanted to do something kind for a friend who was having a hard time. This woman had recently had her leg amputated and I would imagine with that came a whole lot of sadness, obstacles, and lifestyle changes. Today I had the very distinct pleasure to deliver this wreath which I made, this card and inside the card was an incredible gift of kindness. A $500 gift card. I am in awe of the sweet message inside the card telling the woman that she is loved. What a special and wonderful way to gift to someone who probably really needs this boost right now. I hope she was lifted and found happiness in her heart after I walked away only to discover the wreath was a cover the real gift was inside. A true Thanksgiving Blessing. My second feel good story dates back a year ago. An older man in his 80s came in the store and he ordered flowers for his wife. He had just had to put her in a nursing home. Her Alzheimers was too bad for him to care for her any longer. He was heart broken which made me heart broken for him. He was specific that he only wanted 2 red roses in a vase so it represented just he and she. As he left that day I hugged him and told him that somewhere in there she knows hes still with her. It truly was a real life notebook story. 2 weeks ago that same gentleman walked into my store. He reminded me who he was and of course I remembered right away. This time he needed to order a corsage. It was his 60th wedding anniversary. Again, just 2 small red roses to represent he and she. Today was the pick up day at 10:30. He was prompt and I had it waiting for him. That sweet handsome old man with a twinkle in his eyes when he speaks and smiles. I was on the phone taking an order and someone else was waiting on him. As he approached he told her he had been in 2 weeks ago and he said jokingly that it had better be ready. I was multitasking listening to him tell Kathy that and taking my order at the same time. It was time to pay and I excused myself from the phone and told him that there would be no charge today. He pulled his wallet out and insisted on paying but I wouldnt take his money. With that twinkle in his eye he smiled and said hed give her an extra hug from me today. I wished him a happy anniversary and sent him on his way to see his wife. These moments get me through some pretty difficult moments sometimes. Count your blessings everyone, even the small ones. I hope this little bit of inspiration brings you a smile and warms your heart.
